Facilities

        Facilities!

There are fantastic facilities all around the school grounds.

Some of them are in the kitchen such as cookers , deep fryers, freezers and much more. The kitchen is of limits to unsupervised pupils because some facilities are dangerous.

They can also be in classrooms such as: interactive whiteboards and some times water taps.
There are tables , chairs ,trays ,working wall and the normal whiteboard ,none have failed us.
And when you get to year 6… things get exciting!

You have Laptops in your class! Well, it’s just as exciting for the younger years because they get to use the amazing packed with facts; I.C..T  suite.

The library is a place for children to relax and learn. Our library used to be a classroom for ks2 but then we raised enough money for us to buy a wonderful library.

The offices are completely off limits to all students and visitors with out permission because the teachers keep all of the Childrens  files and reports inside and personal belongings in there offices to,  along with computers.

There are facilities in the hall to; at assembly’s we use the projector, sometimes, and we have the water tap at the back and we eat in the hall to.

The practical area has all sorts of facilities for example; sinks, ovens, first aid, fryers and much  more, which leads onto the toilets.

Our school toilets have changing rooms so children  don’t have to get changed in their classroom.

We have a policy of ks1 and ks2, ks1 for spots they do football and they sprint in different ways
Ks2 they do rugby, football and lot’s more. When we have breaks we’ve got numerous amounts of equipment especially for sports.

As you can see facilities are very important so be grateful of what we have!

Science
Brundall Primary School believes science is valuable as it can help prepare the children for their later life. In science we learn about lots of things including gasses, light and dark, plants, space and a lot more. At our school we think that science gives children a good hand for what they do in their further life. The children here have great back ups like our schools interactive whiteboard and we also have a model of the human skeleton. We don’t use any dangerous chemicals at our school so your child will not be under any risks. Chemicals are a risk to children so we think they should be banned from primary schools, do you agree?

Languages
In languages we learn German, French and Latin. In Latin you learn songs; you will also learn how to say your name and lots more speech. The way we learn speech is we read stories from that time.

German is a language that pupils learn in year four .Children learns how to say sports, animals, songs, colours and speech. You learn how to say different sports like football, tennis and lots more. Speech is the most important as you learn how to say hello, bye and how are you, with lots more. This also happens in French.

When your child does french, they sing songs like frere Jacques. They also will make up songs using colours and other words that they know. They will watch videos of real French people having conversations.
This also happens in German. Learning French helps children to understand that everyone speaks differently and it is extremely fun in class to watch the videos and listen to the pronunciation. Your child will enjoy playing games as it helps them remember different speech and they are superb.

P.E

During indoor P.E, we learn a combination of dancing routines, related to our learning and perform gymnastic sequences. In these lessons the children cover similar objectives by performing counter balance, counter tension and gymnastic things like cartwheels, bridges and headstands.

In outside PE, the pupils do lots of sports on the field. I will start with rugby. In rugby we learn to pass and shoot. You need to run with the ball and touch it on the floor in a certain area to score a try.

Swimming is based at Thorpe high school. We are taught by different teachers and the pupils do it on days like Tuesday and Friday also Wednesday. The people who swim learn lots of things like kick and all four strokes.

Art
Art is an enriching lesson. It is one of the most creative lessons in Brundall School.
Clay is the most used materials’ here. We make lots of different things like animals, people and pots. Also, we have shaving foam for KS1, so they can draw and make pictures in the foam. The reason why we do art is because it lets their imagination go wild like a monkey in the jungle. It helps them get a good hand for what they do in their later life. They’re passionate about their work and by the end of their time here they are all master drawers.

people

At Brundall primary school we have support staff who help the main teacher and children who need help .We also have MSA’s , who help in the hall, when it’s lunch time. When it’s Christmas the MSA’s dress up and be silly.

At lunch if your in key stage 1when you put your hand up the MSA’s  will come to you and tell you if you can have pudding but if your in key stage 2 you can have pudding whenever you like, but the MSA’s turn you around if you have not eaten enough .

The teachers in key stage 1 are: Mrs Wicks, Mrs Brown, Mrs Hewitt, Mrs Wilson and Mrs Whitehead .The key stages 2 teachers are: Mr Dooley, Mrs Glover, Mrs O’Regan and Mrs Peers.

All the pupils are extremely pleasant because there is a friendly atmosphere. Everyone try’s there best at everything they do from the age 4-11 and every one of them are very responsible and are trusted to make their own choices.

The children’s behaviour is brilliant and there is no verbal or physical violence and there are hardly any fallout’s and everyone is on their best behaviour

The teachers are caring and kind  , they will always answer questions to help the children  learn in each class there is a helper to explain to the children if they are stuck or need assistants . on the play ground there are a number of mid day supervisors that keep the children safe . If the children get hurt they encourage them to be brave and help then to get back on their feet. In the dinner hall staff assist the children in many ways and care for them. The care taker looks after the school and fixes any problems.

To conclude Brundall school is the best ever

Behaviour

At Brundall School we have to obey certain rules to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone here. This helps the pupils to achieve higher levels.

We have a chart that is up on every classroom wall called the behaviour chart. If a student doesn't behave the teacher gives them 3 chances , but if they don’t obey they move into the purple section.

House captains have to collect the house points every Friday. Each child in key stage 1 Key Stage 2 are allocated to one of the three houses: Heron, Kestrel and Swift. At the end of the term the house with the most points get the house cup.

Superstar tickets are given to Key Stage 1 and golden tickets are given to Key Stage 2 for outstanding work or helping staff.

History of Brundall

                       History Outstanding  Of Brundall

Brundall Primary School was first presented in the year 1969. One of our first pupils were, Emma Dean presently known as Emma Watson who's children went to Brundall!

Brundall Primary schools first head teacher was David Capp who was here when then school was first built, after that it was Mrs. Stephenson.

Our school uniform used to have a dull black badge and the girls and boys had to wear a  stripy tie, not any more!

The school's New Block was opened by former Norwich City football goalkeeper Bryan Gunn. The new block is for some clever Key Stage 2 classes and was opened on the 15th October 2004.

Over the years lessons have changed and been introduced: such as strings, music and languages.
Teachers at Brundall in the early 1970s
Now you have to do an hour of maths and English every day, big maths is a quick fire way of learning maths and phonics.

There have been other changes like getting new computer equipment a couple of years ago.

Our first caretaker was Barry Harding. Some of his hobbies were bird watching around the Norfolk Broads watching the wildlife as well as collecting mysterious hats from all over the world!

children at Brundall school
Finally Brundalls schools time used to be 8:55 to around about 3:15 but now it is a more accurate time of 8:55 till 3:30.

Overall Brundall School has a outstanding history and build up to an extraordinary place for children to spend there childhood days of brilliant life style of education.

Its the winning that counts...

Superb effort this week. You all did incredibly well to come back and dominate this match. I should give a special mention to the round heroes, in particular Lucy who was round hero (heroine) twice.

Great work.

As my Dad  sailed away, I had a weird feeling in my stomach. I knew something strange was going to happen . Something landed on my foot and looking behind me  I saw a colossal turtle. It's eyes were bright green and I could't look away.  I tried to run but this was no normal turtle.   It was a golden egg laying one and was impossible to pull with one foot. I fell flat on my face.   I looked up and saw it's head leaning over me "I'm sorry if I scared you, I just wondered if you would like some of my golden eggs".

Candy World

Hi, I’m Cally an 11 year old girl.  I was strolling down a very bumpy road.  Suddenly I tripped and tumbled head over heel and ended in a very strange place.  Looking behind me, I saw a giant chocolate crocodile!

I frantically ran until I found a small cave.

BANG! BANG!

As I flung round I saw a family of sour snakes, poisonous sour snakes!

ZOOM!

I was out in a flash.  After a while I bumped into a giant red gummy bear.  He frightened these dangerous creatures away and said...

...”wake up it’s time for school.” Said my mum.

And it was all a dream!

Looking behind me I saw a big gloomy shadow hag over me. I looked up slowly and saw furry feet, a big furry body, a big long nose and massive teeth. But what was this hideous beast? It was a were wolf! Its bite must hurt. But I don’t want to find out because a biten man is a curesed man. Then I heard someone scream!I ran to my house and there was my mother lying dead on the floor. Then I heard a howl it was the were wolf I swore I would get revenge!

Looking behind me, I saw a monster lurking in the shadows.  It's mad growl was rumbling through the busy town.

I saw it's huge black head crunching on innocent people.  Surprisingly, a shop keeper ran out with his phone, taking pictures of the dangerous monster.

Stupidly, he sought refuge inside a golden sports car.  The idiotic gentleman was unaware this dinosaur was no normal dinosaur, but a car eating dinosaur.

The beast pounced on the car with the shop keeper frightened behind the door. In a flash the car  was devoured by the fiersome monster, fortunately the man jumped clear

My time at Corfu and Aqualand

In the middle of  the summer holidays 2012 me and my family went to Corfu! I was so psyched! We were actually going to Corfu. I am going to tell you about my favourite time in Corfu in order.

Aqualand, it had the third largest wave mashine in the world! At first I couldn’t believe how big the park was! Looking behind me, I saw 3 towers the towers name was Millenium, Family games and Extreme games.

My favourite water slide was the double twister! Your in darkness and you go really fast! I’m sorry I can’t tell you more. Bye!

It was Sunday morning,
And the rain was pouring,

I got out of bed,
Scratched my head,
Then I started yawning,

Then I got ready,
The rain was still heavy,

Then we went to the park,
It was still dark,

But my sister wanted to play,
So I had to stay!

Then …looking behind I saw,
A bright pink mini door,

When I got in,
I heard someone sing,

So I began to walk,
I crawled into the cave, looking behind me; I saw the light fading away slowly. I was alone. A dazzling blue light was twinkling in the distant. I sloshed on slipping and sliding down the stones, because they covered the place from head to foot. Then I saw a glowing bowl, I slide my fingers down the decorated bowl. ”Aahh”. said a unknown voice. I froze slowly stood up, finally turned carefully around waited then SCREAMED!I really could not think,  next I was hit by a red light and fell onto the cold bowl … and that’s all I remember!

One day I was strolling back from cave school and I felt a sharp pain on the back of my neck and reached around, what I saw made my spine shiver. It was lava. I span 180°, looking behind me I saw a volcano growing in front of my eyes.

The lava spitting protrusion  left me with no choice ;I had to run…

When I got a safe distance away I stopped and stood still, thinking, “was I dreaming.”

Anxiously, I ventured back and to my surprise  the volcano was gone. There was no trace except a lonely lump of pumice.

I was in a mud patch and looking behind me I saw beautiful butterfly eating teddy gum drops from a basket on a lovely fluffy pink unicorns back. It was sprinting from a nose dripping troll. I saw it and instantly jumped into a bush. The leaves crackled. However it heard me and jumped into the bush. The troll hit me and gobbled me up. I only jut got through all the snot and bogeys. The unicorn cried and cried itself to death. The butterfly flew away but it turned back to keep the memories of me.

Looking behind me I saw a dark shadow. It was pitch black! Suddenly I saw its threatening eyes; they were lime green and were staring straight at me! Then I heard thunderous thuds, I was as scared as an antelope galloping from a speed of light cheetah.  I started to run. Then BANG! What was that? My dog had turned into jelly?

Out from the gloomy shadow I saw it… It was a gigantic gummy bear. I ran up to it and started to fight the monster, biting of its hands until there was just a head. THE END!

Walking down an endless grey corridor with baby cries echoing  round me, getting louder and louder!

Then all of a sudden there were some screams of a girl in pain!

When I fell over,  came a gush of wind whispering “HELP!”

I struggled to pull myself up but when I did , posters fell of the lockers reading “run, help me!”

In the distance I saw shadows that seemed familiar then when I narrowed my eyes to see a bit more they vanished!

I  started running as fast as I could because of a shiver down my spine.

Looking behind me I saw!
