Ski trip by Kate

One December morning, year six set off to the Norfolk Snowsports club for a taster session of skiing. , class teacher,

To prepare us for our amazing trip, Mr Dooley put on a video called ski Sunday. It made us determined not to fall over, however, that would be impossible! As soon as the coach pulled up outside the school, we got into partners and started our journey to the club.

When the Dodo’s got there, they put their luggage in a special room. After that we lined up to get our boots and skis fitted individually. It was essential to have our fingers covered and it was cold and bitter outside so putting on our equipment year six went outside.

A friend and I thought that our group would have a normal instructor, but when we carried our skis out to the slopes, there was a surprise waiting for us….. It was Santa!!
Santa taught us how to put on our skis then a warm up followed by carefully side-stepping up the nursery slope where are skiing adventure started.

Inch by inch, everyone began to climb the steep slope where ‘Santa’ taught us the method. Listening carefully, our group learnt that you had to go two at a time, then turn your skis slowly, then make them parallel and put your hands on your knees. It was scary for your first time, but it was fun after a few runs.

Soon it got slightly more advanced and individually, our group progressed to more complex moves. From touching your knees then your toes to hopping when you get to the bottom. But the trickiest move was hopping while you are moving down the slope!

Eventually it was time to wash our skis at a special ski wash. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief because it was time to take our uncomfortable boots off! Due to lots of falling over, we were allowed t get changed and straight after that it was time for lunch. After a lot of chatting it was time to go.

Overall it was a great taster session. I’m sure many people would recommend it to anyone. It was an amazing idea and an outstanding opportunity and I will definitely remember this awe-inspiring day.

Ski Trip

This December, the adventures Dodos were setting off for a splendid, well deserved trip to the Norfolk snow-sports ski club.

Firstly, we got onto the shiny bus. When we got there the instructors lead us in, we were excited.

Secondly my friends and I received our special boots that fit us as tight as possible.

Suddenly I received a pair of awesome skis and I put them on, I was ready to rumble.

Fourthly, when we got to the bottom of the slope Rudolf, our instructor, taught us how to take our skis off.

For our warm up, we played follow the leader then I carefully side-stepped up the slope at that time I was very nervous.

Finally we were able to go down the slope with our hands on our knees.

However it was hard to learn the technique. When I got used to it I had a race with my friend Henry Foot, and beat him

When my class finished skiing I washed my skis so they were shiny clean.

In conclusion my class mates and I thought it was our best day of our lives

skiing trip

On Tuesday 17th December 2013 the dodos class set off on a ski trip that would change their lives forever….The ski trip was held at the Norfolk snow sports club as which someone special will be there.

When in the classroom, excited, everyone settled down with all their stuff, ready to catch sports Sunday.

After watching sports Sunday they caught the bus that would take them to the slope.

When we arrived the dodos had there boots fitted ready for the ski slope. Skiing did have disadvantages as for the stingy smell of feet was not the smell of sweet roses.

Soon after we got measured up for our skis.

Next me and my friends went through to the ski slope where we put on the skis.

To begin with we warmed up we played the follow the leader. This may seem like a very childish game to you but it was a challenge on skis.

Then Santa talked us through safety rules one of them was hands on knees and listen to teacher.

Next we learnt how to walk up, no not like when you walk across the street we had to sidestep. Many people fell over.

Now we were ready to face the challenge of skiing down. Then we had lunch.

So do you think you’re brave enough to face the challenge

Skiing Trip

The adventurous Dodos set out on an exciting journey to the Norfolk snowsports club. This December the brave year sixes got ready to go on a skiing extravaganza. For many of them it would be the first time they ever skied.

After watching some amazing ski Sunday, the class happily walked to the bus. Once they were all on the bus, they were talking about skiing and how they were feeling. It was only a small matter of time until they arrived there.

As soon as we arrived, everyone got straight into action by putting there boots on. The boots were quite hard to get on as some had three buckles and some had two buckles. Once they were on and secure we got measured so the instructors could fit our skis.

Shortly afterwards we went outside to put or skis on. To build up or confidence we done a warm up. We started by following the leader and then jumping and many more. The instructor then told us the safety rule sand taught us how to safely walk up the slope.

Then, everyone began walking sideward up the hill ready for our first run. Once you were up the slope you had to walk to walk to the middle, turn around, place your hands on your knees and go. The first time you feel excited and nervous, but after a few goes you build up your confidence. It was such a great experience.

Sadly, after lunch  we left. This was such a fun day and everyone enjoyed it.

Overall it was a great day and you should definitely have a go. So go to Norfolk snowsports club and give it a go yourself. The whole of the Dodos class enjoyed and I’m
Sure you will to.

Skiing Trip!

Year 6, known as the Dodos, went on a snowy and cold adventure. We all stormed on the coach filled with excitement and glee to the Norfolk snow sports club.

Firstly, the Dodos raced into the stinky boot room. It smelled like a sweat bomb had exploded in there. Everyone struggled to get their boots on.

After a while we finally got on to the slope. They instructor split us up into groups. My group got Santa to instruct us. At first I was petrified but the after a while everyone got use to it.

Santa said we had to side step up the slope. It was really tiring. When me and my friends got to the top, all of us had to bend and hold our knees.

Finally after we pulled our boots of note only where our feet where sour but we where socked so we changed. Then all of us had lunch. By that time it was time to go.

So over all it was a amazing opportunity. Go to Norfolk snow sports club I bet it will be great fun.
Skiing Trip

On an exciting winter morning the Dodo’s set off on an outstanding skiing trip at Norfolk Snow sports Club.

The Dodo’s class, which has set off on a remarkable adventure, were having fun on the coach.

When the excited Dodo’s got there we had a lot of messing around getting everything sorted. That means getting the boots on and getting the ski’s and helmets.

Then the spectacular Dodo’s warmed up and learnt our first thing, which was to learn how to get up the slope.

On my first run I only went half way and I was nervous but every time I got more confident. The instructors told me to put my hands on my knees and keep my head up.

Then we had lunch it was very nice and healthy. Then the Dodo’s went back to school.

skiing trip

The adventurous Dodo’s class, oozing with eager, travelled to Norfolk Snow Sports Club to do some rapid skiing on the 17th of December.
At approximately 10:00 the bus arrived. After we’d gone inside, we had our boots and skis fitted. This took about 15 minutes. (Unfortunately we had to put up with the horrible smell of the well used boots).

Once everyone had got their boot, coats and gloves on, they were set to go!
The Dodo’s trekked outside, when we were faced with the tubing, nursery and big master slopes. Our own pupils Alfie and Ollie were experienced skiers and went on the master slopes.
The instructor, who was dressed as Santa, then put us into two groups. He told us how to put our skis on and move around. Me and my friends were warming up by playing follow the leader. Once we’d grasped the hang of moving, my group made our way up the nursery slope.

As we side stepped half way, the instructor told us how to ski down. We needed to put our hands on our knees, keeps the skis parallel and look straight.
After it was going well he started to mix things up a bit. As we slid down the ramp, he gave us instructions like hop and touch your toes.
Although the class were having an amazing time, before we knew it, it was time to stop. Once we got all our gear off, the dodos chilled out upstairs while having lunch. Me and my friends chatted about how fun it was.

Overall, the dodos class had an amazing time. Why don’t you have a go?

OUR SKIING TRIP

In December the adventurous Dodo’s went on an awesome skiing trip but before we set of we watched ski Sunday once I had seen that I thought skiing was easy to ski but you will see how hard it is later.

When all the Dodo’s got on the bus they were sitting next to their friends and chatting once we got their the instructors told us that we needed to get our ski boots on before we could ski.

Afterwards we had to get our skis fitted then take them outside. Once we got on the slope we started to get our skis on I struggled a little bit.

Next we done a warm up with our skis on it was walking around in circles. I have to say it was hard to turn the skis.

Finally we got to go on the slopes everyone was walking up the slope sideways so we did dent slide down the slope. In the end we went to the top of the slope then skied down.

Blythe ski trip

Skiing trip

The adventurous Dodos were ready to roll on a ski trip, this December, at Norfolk snow sports club.

When the whole class was on the coach, every millimetre closer we got the more exited the looks on their faces were.

As soon as we got there, everyone had to find the right size boot. When we got the boots safely strapped on, me and my friends were able to get the skies on.
We eventually got on the slope and started an awesome following the leader warm up. Then all of us had to side-step up the hill some found it harder then others since it felt like our legs were on fire.

Finally  after lots of practicing we were able to go to the top so me and my friends had races to celebrate our success. It was brilliant!
SKIING TRIP

As the sun peeked trough the clouds the brave Dodo’s stepped on the breathtaking coach to start their journey of skiing on the blazing plastic at NORFOLK  Snow sports club.

As we glazed at the enormous ski club the treacherous Dodo’s started to smell the abhorrent  smell of pure sweat leaking through the changing rooms. As we stepped in we couldn't bare to stay in there long so as fast as we all could the Dodo’s put their boots on with the help of Alfie and Ollie as they have had a huge experience of  skiing.

Some of the Dodo’s finished so they lined up to get their skis, which took forever, from the desk of where instructors gave the Dodo’s.

When everyone finished we went outside and got our skis on but Alfie, Ollie and Mr Dooley all went on the massive slope but all the others had to go on the mini slope as they haven’t done skiing before.

Ollie was the first one to reach the top of the huge, steep slope shortly followed by Alfie. Ollie bellowed down the hill as fast as he could.

On the last run Ollie and Alfie went as fast as they could down the slope to see who won but as everyone knows Alfie won by sure!!

After all the racing and sweating we freshened up our skis by washing them thoughrely.

The intrepid Dodo’s frolicked up the stairs to eat their food rapidly after the hard days work.

skiing trip

A teacher in Brundall, named Mr Dooley, organised a skiing trip on the 17th December. As The Dodos class had heard about the trip last year, everyone wanted to go. The right equipment had been found as the class  set off to enjoy a fun-packed day ahead. Despite the miserable weather, we were still looking forward to it, some getting very excited.

Rumbling away, the coach came out of Brundall. Soon after the intrepid Dodos clambered into the vehicle, we had to get out again as it was a short journey. Certain individuals were jumping with excitement whilst others were terrified as me and my friends blocked the sweaty smell, coming from the well used ski boots, and got our boots on. An unfortunate happening meant that the Dodo’s missed a 15 minutes of the skiing lesson. A pupil broke the skis!!!

Finally, after half an hour of unbearable heat and kafuffle, we stumbled onto the slope with our measured skis in our arms. Our groups instructor, in which the crew named Santa (a seasonal costume gave us the idea), told us the safety points of skiing. Shortly after, a fun warm up awaited our group involving follow the leader.

In our 3 groups, the Dodo’s side-stepped up the nursery slope kitted up in our skis. Santa told us to keep our hands on our knees when we slide down the slope. After a few us shuffled onto the slope, though, they forgot and skidded down the slope; one individual slightly hurting herself.  As I progressed up the slope, I started to feel the nerves.

A group was disappointed because they didn’t get to go to the top, and the instructor stopped us before the other group. After changing back into our normal clothes, we chillaxed upstairs while eating lunch. There was a shortage of chair so the boys sneakily stole others.

Over it was a really enjoyable trip and a good experience for all of us.

Ski trip by Ciara

One crisp December morning, when the dark clouds were rising, the intrepid Dodos were of on an adventure to Norfolk snow sports club. We went to learn how to ski.

When we arrived at school we watched ski Sunday before the coach turned up. I told Kate Campbell, a very good friend of mine, that I would be trying all the AMAZING tricks he/she performed. Then the coach finally appeared outside the school and we got a phone call from the office to get all our bags and go to the coach. I sat next to Alisha Youngs on the way there!

Then we got there we put our bags on the benches in the ski place and went to get our boots fitted. We had to try them on first just to make sure they fitted and we were told the boots fitted if the toes don’t scrunch up at the tip end of the boots. Secondly, we had too get our boots fitted to our ski’s but heres a VERRY important tip we learnt that’s too never put your ski’s on until your in an open space(outside).

Also, we had to warm up so we split into three groups and walked around a bit. While we were at it our skiing instructor, Santa Claus, talked about our health and safety.

Next, we had to walk up the steep ski slope. It took forever! Heres another tip….
Lean to the side a tiny bit, and then walk up like that.

At last we got to ski and it was fantastic! The only thing that wasn’t very fair was that the other groups got to go to the very top of the ski slope and we didn’t. We had to go half way down. Everyone tried not to fall over but it was IMPOSSIBLE! Overall, on the positive side, it was an amazing experience learning how to ski!

At the end of our skiing lesson, we went to wash our skies. We had to get changed out of our wet clothes to eat our lunch since I fell over in a big puddle. We then went up stairs to the bar to eat our packed lunch. I sat with Ellie Andrews, Eleanor Lloyd-Thompson and Paige Heathcote. It was her birthday that day.

In conclusion, it was a fantastic day overall. I recommend you should go there and you’ll have as much fun as me and my friends did! (Even if we did fall over!)

skiing trip

On the 17th December 2013 the dodo’s class went to Norfolk snow sports club to learn to ski.

First we had to get our boots and skis fitted and on so we would be safe we also had a helmet on.

Next we had to start skiing Alfie W and Ollie G had skied before so they went on the big slope so everyone else went on the smaller slope for beginners.

Now we had to warm up so we did follow the leader on skis the leader was Spencer.
Then we started to go downhill and race each other we used the travelator to get up.

Then once we were done we washed our skis and then went to lunch.

In conclusion it was an amazing trip and experience to have it might not of been to everyone’s taste but most of us liked it.

                                       SKIING TRIP

As the sun peeked through the clouds the brave Dodos were full with excitement since they were few steps away from their Skiing Trip.

The day began with the whole class watching Ski Sunday on the interactive whiteboard.

When the time came, we boarded the coach and set off for our adventure to the Norfolk Snow sports Club.

When we arrived the smell could almost knock you out but after a while you didn’t really notice it.

As the class got their gear on (boots /helmet and skies) some people had finished so they had their snack.

Meanwhile, my friends and i went out to the little ski slop to put our skies on and warm up. For our warm up our group followed our instructor (Rudolph) round in a circle. After we were warmed up we started going up the slop by side stepping.

Finally, on the last run my group went up to the top some of us were a bit nervous but we all done it. I had a race with Oliver Smith and I won .When everyone had finished they washed the skis.

Before we left everyone had lunch.

In conclusion, everyone enjoyed it it’s not everyone’s taste. Wonder what you would think when you go?

The Dodos class were ready to go on their skiing trip
to the Norfolk Snow Sports Club.

Our class was ready to get on the massive bus to go skiing.

When we got there we had to rush into the changing room
where we had to get ready and get our boots and other       equipment. Some people had trouble getting ready(especially Kyle)

When every one had got some boots that fit them, then we went  to the instructors to set up the D.I.N. setting on our skis.

Then when we got out side our instructors told us how to get our skis on and off.

After we learned how to put the skis on and off we started doing some warm-ups like sliding in a circle and side shuffling.

Soon after the instructor checked the skis to make sure the D.I.N. setting was working.

Our instructor told us to side shuffle up the hill and it was really tiring .

The teacher told us to tern down the hill.

After that our teacher explained the technique for skiing

Then we started some people struggled and some didn’t.

It got really tiring walking up the hill so the teachers told us we could go up the travelator.

Then we were allowed to go to the top which was really fun.

It was a really fun place I think everybody enjoyed it.

On a crisp, winter morning the Dodos, bouncing off the walls with excitement were preparing for their skiing trip. At last everyone got on the coach and settled down.

When the class got there we chucked all our things down and lined up to get our boots. The boots were complicated to put on but we got there in the end.

It took a long time but eventually everyone into a line and the men put us into groups.

Later we learnt to get up the hill by side stepping and then when we got to the point we where meant to be we slid down with our hands on our knees. Every few turns we moved up and it really hurt our legs.

Finally, tired but contented, we all settled down for lunch. Unfortunately we all got told off for running around up stairs.

Although our legs ached, everyone had great fun and would love to go back.

.Skiing trip

One cold winter morning ,the adventurous Dodos set off on a skiing adventure. They where all buzzing with excitement and ready to go to Norfolk sports centre , to learn how to ski. Firstly , the year sixes got on the noisy couch to get there.

Secondly, we had to equip all of our gear in order to actually get started. We got skis and boots, also helmets.

Next, the Dodos split into three groups in which we would be skiing in.

Later on, my group put on our wonderful skis  and did a warm up in which we played follow the leader.

Then, me and my friends walked up the ski slope, with our skis on, and with extreme caution. It was really tricky.

After that, we skied down the slope and most of us fell over but none of us got hurt. Also, we used the elavator.

Next, we had lunch to finish off a perfect day.

Over all,  I think some enjoyed it more than others but I think everyone had a great day. So what do you think is skiing fun?, go find out.
Dodos skiing trip.

On a smooth winter morning the Dodos set off on an epic journey to go to an amazing adventure at the Norfolk snow sports club.

First of all, we all got on the coach and talked about what are they teaching us to do and  I   wondered what equipment us the  dodos would  need, but as me and my friends were  thinking for another question the coach stopped …FINALLY we were there!

Just when we had all got off the comfy coach the energetic Dodos had to go inside and get all geared up. When all of us had all of  the  equipment on we were able to start  on the slope.

To start of the instructor told us how to get out and in our skis and then the outstanding Dodos shot up the slippery ski slope and then , because we were awesome ,we all got to start going from the top it was  phenominal.
!! Unfortunately it was time to stop but on the bright side it was lunch time ,all of the delicate dodos were scavenging for food.

In conclusion, it was a brilliant day and I bet lots of people would recommend going to the snow sports club like I would.

Ski trip

One sunny December morning, the Dodos set off on a trip they would never forget.

As we walked towards the coach, excitement was all we felt. As we approached Norfolk Snowsports club everyone stared out of the windows of the coach as we saw how big the slopes were.

As we excitedly ran towards the building, some of us started to feel a bit nervous. We walked into the sight of hundreds of skis accompanied be boots. We all queued to get our boots and skis.

When everyone was ready we adventured outside only to the sight of a ski slope the size of a mountain. Luckily the only people who went on that slope where experienced skiers who were Oli, Alfie, Mr Dooley and Miss Bagge. Everyone else went on the nursery slope.

We quickly got our skis on and we began first we did a warm up. Our instructor showed us how we would go down the slope and get up the slope. We got p the slope by doing little side steps up to where we were allowed to go. To get down you had to bend your legs and put your hands on your knees. You have to keep them on the whole down otherwise you’llfall over. As the time went on we went further and further up the slope, unfortunately our group never went to the top, however every other group did. After that we had lunch and went back to school.

I conclusion I think the whole of the dodos class enjoyed it. Despite falling over many times it was still great fun. So go and have a go.

                           The Dodos skiing trip

On a cold and frosty winters day the adventurous Dodos went on a amazing skiing trip to the Norfolk snow sports  club.

At the start of the day the lovely year sixes watched a excellent skiing video.

At the club we had to try on the ski boots. A little wile after that the Dodos had to go get there skies.

After that we done a warm up also known as follow the leader. After that we learnt all the basics and started to go up the nursery slope then skiing back down Jade explained “my favourite part was going up to the top of the nursery slope.”

At the end of our wonderful trip we hade our lunch and went back to school.

It was a great day and we all wished we could go there again.

the adventure

As the sun rised the adventurous dodos class set off to Norfolk snow sports club on December 17th .

We were on the bus it was a long wait but a fun wait.

When we got there we got told how to put on the boots and then us guys got our boots and helmet on.

When me and my friends got outside the group put on skiing equipment then everyone got into groups.

The group side stepped up the skiing slope and then the guys skied down the slope us lot started the ski down the slope half way and got the travelator up.

In conclusion the skiing trip was one of the funnest things I have ever done and I approve of it.

                                                        The end ;)
Skiing Trip

It was manic; everyone was so existed about our epic skiing trip. All the Dodos class was ready to go, since this was the first time skiing for most of the Dodos we were the most existed ones.

First of all we watched skiing Sunday and got a few ideas about skiing. It was inspirational to me.

Then after a few minuets we got on the bus and set of on our new trip.

When we got there we got the extremely weird feeling boots (they felt like skates).

My friends and I got held up by none other than, Kyle so we had to wait about half an hour before the next person could take their turn. When I got my skis I went outside to get some fresh air.

After about an hour we got ready to roll but before we could go skiing we had to put our skis on. It took quite a while for a few groups of people but for me it was like I was a professional.

Next was the warm up and fortunately this didn’t take long because we only needed to get used to the feel of the skis. He also talked about the safety which was what happened when we crashed.

Later on we had to side step up the hill so the Dodos could get around half way. Then we had to turn around, now you may think this is easy but it is not because we had to turn around like a clock. When we were going down the hill we had to put our hands on our knees.

The group I was in got to go on the travlelater so the group could get to the top. And at the end Henry (me) and Kyle got to race and unfortunately he won but I was not trying but he said I was.

Just before lunch we had to wash the skis and get the whole class changed. Ben made me take his boots off and I accidentally knocked my drink over.

Now it was lunch time and it was so relaxing because the Dodos got to see the skiers and the snow borders go down the big hill.

Finally the class got back in the bus to go home well not really home but school just in time for lunchtime break.

I conclude that most of the Dodos loved it so why don’t you have a try?

skiing trip

This December, the Dodo’s class got on the bus to go skiing at the Norfolk ski club.

When we got there we got geared up with our boots and skis we didn’t need poles though because we were going on the nursery  slopes, accepted Alfie W and Ollie G who were going on the tall master ski slope  with Mr. Dooley and Miss Bag.

Eventually, we got moving and started to warm up and “ Santa”  took us through the safety steps. Then me and my friend side stepped  up the nursery slope. Everyone turned around on the hill and slid down the hill as gracefully as a swan.

Before we new it it was time to have lunch then it was time to go home.

Overall it was a fun day out and everyone enjoyed it .give it a go and you will never now.
Skiing trip.

The intrepid Dodo’s went on a amazing expedition that was skiing. This extravaganza took place on one crisp cold December morning. As well as all that the Norfolk snow sports centre was the best venue for our activity despite the lack of snow.

As soon as we got there you could feel the tension inside you could probably cut the atmosphere with a knife. First we got a quick briefing and then we put on our boots. It was very annoying because some people forgot that you had to bring one to the desk so they could measure your skis up but we all got round it.

When the class was ready on the slopes we were instructed how to put the skis on and of course off. After we had the safety talk, we went up the fun but precarious slope. Then we went down it was incredible the wind in your hair it was almost as if you were flying although we had to hold our knees.

This cycle happened continuously until we were allowed all the way to the top, more steep more fast. Kyle said” wow that is a long way down.” All of a sudden Henry was half way down, the group was cheering it was great then everyone we even ended up racing.

Lunch was the perfect way to round of the day we were all worn out some more than others but all in all I think everyone had a fantastic day.
SKIING TRIP

This December the intrepid dodos class went on a trip to Norfolk snow sports centre to do some skiing .Despite the miserable weather  the adventurous year six got on the rumberling bus . There  was chatter and laughter but the bus finally arrived .one of the girls said she felt excited and really wanted to try out a new sport.

When everyone arrived we had to our equipment on. When we were all grouped up lots of people lost their balance. As soon as the whole class was ready we went outside we got ought how to put our skis on and off. First the instructor showed us how to ski and then we were off.

Later on when everyone had got the hang of skiing people started to cruise down the slope more confidently.

On our last run we got to go on the travelator  which is like a huge elevator .at the end we had races with each other.

When we finished we had to wash our skis and get ready to have lunch. Finally it was lunch time. The room was really manic we watch  older people ski and snow bored. They were really good .

Finally it was time to go back to school when we got back we were really chatty and everyone was talking about the trip.

                                                            Skiing Trip
On a fine sunny morning, the Dodos set off on a extraordinary trip to the Norfolk snow sports club.

First we went on the bus for a long time.

When we got there we tried on the beginners slope and when they fitted the skiis.

Then the class got on the beginners slope and sidestepped up the slope and when it was my turn I slid to the middle and went down.

With the last couple of goes we went up on the travalator up to the top and go down.

When the Dodos got in we had to clean our skiis.

After that we went upstairs for lunch.
It was a cold frosty morning. but nothing would stop them from going skiing.

The first thing we did was get on the bus we got there are went into the changing room and got our boots and skies. and then we went on the slop. because me Allie Mr d and me had skied before so we where on the main slop.

When me and my friend got on the slop the 2 of us started our warm up run. ones we had a few runs we went into the went into the fun park and did some sick tricks.

Then the instructor set us a challenge that we had to ski round the green squares witch was the biggest slalom course but it took me a few tries to do it but I did it.

On my last run I did a straight run as fast as i can.

Then we had to come of to wash our skies.then we had some of lunch then we went back

Sportshall Athletics comes to Brundall School

This December a teacher from Brundall Primary School set up a Sportshall club aimed at years 5 and 6 pupils in the school hall.

From 3:45 to 4:45 the pupils do a warm up game, warm up stretches, a carousel of activities including standing long jump, speed bounce, target throw and that is just a few, a warm down then go home.

Organiser of the club Mrs. Brown said:
“I think Sportshall is a great introduction to athletics. It is a fun team based sport. She went on telling us that, “Sportshall athletics gives you the chance to find out if you are a runner, jumper, thrower or maybe all three!”

Statistics show that it does keep your child very fit as well as being fun, as a Year 5 pupil exclaimed, “It was the best club ever!”

Mrs Brown has lots of helpers including Mrs Power, Mrs Watering, Gail Smith, Anna Parkin and Jonathan Childs.

A boy from Year 6 kindly stated,
“It’s a nice experience which Mrs Brown has kindly provided.”
There is going to be a competition in January and we will enter two teams of boys and girls.

The excited pupils are looking forward to doing this club and have been working hard. Olivia Brown, Year 6 pupil, hopes to become an Olympian one day.
“Hopefully this will teach us how to train and give us competition practice because when I grow up I’m going to be in the Olympics,” she commented.

parent share day

Mr Dooley, year 6 teacher organised a parent share day for the hard working year 6 pupils. Therefore year 6 can show parents what they do in class , also we did a activity and have a bit of fun.

Firstly, at 9 clock,he pupils parents wondered in. The children's shown there parents there marvellous range of books. While the parents drank cups of tea and nibbled on small biscuits.

Next Mr Dooley showed us are tasks on his hi-tech computer and white board. They parents all helped, we got with are parents and got into groups. It was a very complicated task but everyone finished in the end. The parents left at 10:45.

I interviewed a couple of people to see what they made of the day … Mrs Grice, high level helper, pointed that the atmosphere was busy and creative  she also said that normally when an adult says what you need we sit and listen to the rest but the parents ran and grabbed everything.

Also Ciara Boswell , a formal pupil said that everyone was very helpful  and it was good fun.

Kim Haynes a parent who came loved every minute and would come again.

That is all everyone hades a spelind time .So go to one.
Tour Guides

A group of children from a primary school showed some new parents around the school this November.  They have been planning for this moment for a long time so they can show their true skill.

The first thing that the year sixes showed the adults was the class that their child or children would start their journey to success.

Second was the field where they would be doing some clubs if they want.

Thirdly the phenomenal year sixes, where they will be spending their last years in primary school.

One of the adults said to a parent of a year six, that took them around the school, said “Your boy was an excellent tour guide and my child will definitely be going to this school.”
Tag Games

In a little village in Norfolk , named Brundall , tag games like cops and robbers , bulldog and it are a big part of a Childs youth .But in Brundall primary school, they are sometimes the cause of many arguments and as a result of that , staff are thinking about banning them all throughout the playgrounds to stop arguments.

We asked some of the members of the Dodos if banning tag games will benefit the children or upset them and most said it would upset them .We asked Joe Elliott and Lauren Garrett . Joe said-“I think banning games would upset the children because tag games allow them to have total freedom and also lets them run around and express themselves.” Lauren said,” banning tag games would give children nothing to do at break and lunchtime.” This goes to show
that in addition to banning tag games would leave a grumpy playground.

After more arguments and injuries, the staff’s opinions on banning tag games got much , much stronger.

So what do you think , is banning cops and robbers , bulldog and it a good idea or will it leave the children heart broken.

Brundall cross country

Scientists believe that cross country will provide a healthy childhood,Plus a healthy adult. On one frosty  Autum morning 10 pupils Alisha,Oliver,Kyle,Olivia,Lucy ,Emily,Zac,James , Sam and Raven set of on the 14 th of November to do there first cross country in North walsham they all placed really well and were all exited about the next cross country.
Brundall School Athletics Club

A teacher from Brundall Primary School has started an after school athletics club which takes place on a Monday after school. She believes that the club will build up teamwork, good sportsmanship and is a great introduction to athletics.

Mrs Brown, school teacher, has kindly started an after school athletics club for years five and six. The older children of the school have had lots of fun and have enjoyed them selves.

Despite the fact that its only been going for two weeks, children have said how fun it is and shared their thoughts with us.

The main representative of the club, Mrs Brown, said that sportshall athletics gives children the chance to find out if they are a runner, jumper, thrower or maybe even all three!

Helping her run the club are Anna Parking, Mrs Watering, Gail Smith, Mrs power and Johnathon. They have all said how amazed by how many children turned and how much they enjoyed it.

“I liked it because everyone had a chance to do everything” Explained Olivia brown

Doing long jump, speedbounce, target throw, shuttle run and balance, there is a wide variety of activities for the children to try.

Oliver Geary said that he thought that it’s a very nice experience that Mrs Brown has kindly provided for us.

Year six pupil, Lauren Garrett,   also said that she thought its very fun and a good experience that not everyone can do.

Every child really appreciates Mrs Browns hard work and  hopes and the club carries on throughout the future.

The Dodo's Decaying Experiment

Stinky and smelly was our key when we set up an experiment about fungi. On Monday 19th November, the Dodo’s class conducted an experiment about micro-organisms. Unfortunately, this was one that had consequences. The classroom would not smell like fresh roses any more.  Mr Dooley, outstanding teacher, thought a nauseating experiment would be good for the children, and to see micro-organisms attacking the matter.

As they got into their organised groups, the books were handed out in which had their thought-out experiments in. Most groups had decided to place two to four objects in concealed jars and examined which matter decayed faster. Whilst other groups had placed their jars in different places, investigating if dark affect micro-organisms.

After they had their experiments conducted, they closely studied them, their recordings written down in their science books.
Finally, 312 hours after the experiment started, they started to conclude what they had found out. Suddenly, without any warning, a jar of milk exploded over a pupil.
“I only opened it; the pressure was too much; it exploded all over me. Mr Dooley stopped the experiment afterwards as the smell was too putrid.

To conclude, we found out that micro-organisms need air to reproduce and create mould. Maybe you could recreate your own test. What would you change? Would you be able to put up with the abhorrent stench? Probably not, but it`s worth a try.

Sainsbury’s centre   visual arts

On Thursday the 28th of November this year, the hardworking Dodos went on artistic trip to the Sainsburys centre by the UEA. Mr Dooley, outstanding teacher, was the one who made it happen.

Firstly, many people who have been have reported that they furrerly enjoyed it and would defiantly go again .

The guides talked to us about all of the different masterpieces and different styles that some artists do and we learnt a great deal .We learnt that artists from around the world have many unique and different styles.

Half an hour later ,we split up into groups of three and four to set off and investigate on our own .During this time we counted how many different artists we found .

Finally , we had our lunch and met up with the rest of the class to look at the main  department to see the different statues which looked a lot like they were going to pop out at you .I wonder what will happen to it as It  gets older ?

Local Adventure

The dazzling Dodos set out on a exciting adventure around Brundall  because their topic was local adventure.

Mr Dooley, outstanding teacher , kindly arranged to take the Dodos on an amazing trek , according to Mr Dooley's calculations they walked an jaw dropping 2.6 miles!!!!!!

Many people felt very cold and tired by the time they got back to school.

Scientists believe children exploring their local area is important for later life. For many children may choose to live in Brundall.

I also remember recording, she claimed, "that it was a great way of learning and everyone had a good time." comment by ciara Boswell

Also quoted by class leader Mr Dooley that,"it wasn't just the children who had fun!"

As it was such a success they arranged an outing to the sainsburys centre and now a ski trip !!!!!!!
so much fun planned for them ahead....
A spokesman stated  that they were so looking forward to the next trip!!

brundall school fireworks

A few people put on a display for the whole village. This extravaganza took place at one very lucky school, and when it started well you will find out.

A team of pyrotechnics, who the school hire every year , managed to create the moment we get every time the fireworks are on. As a result we all feel they are incredibly trust worthy.

It was the fireworks that blew us away and put the spark in our day. in addition it was wonderful standing with a friend watching the colour explosions.

Our very own school teacher  said,"wonderful display it brought the community together."Further more this event took place on Friday 8th November 2013 a very special day for us all.

We thought the field was the perfect venue for the event Oliver Smith quoted,"the atmosphere was amazing and it provided necessary funds."

Another reason for putting on the display was for school funding. With all the money we raised  we managed to afford mew laptops for the dodos class.

although in the face of a challenge ,everyone played their important part in insuring the fireworks were a huge success. Reports show it was one of the biggest turn outs we have ever had.

Pudsey bear day

Pudsey Bear Day is a extremely well known day to raise lots of money to charity.

On Pudsey Bear Day hundreds of schools take part and make stools so everyone can buy and make a valuable donation to life saving charity. A teacher at the school was thrilled with the success " It was great and a huge result!" He commented.

It is understood that every year on the 15th November is Pudsey Bear Day so the children Africa and all the world get a chance to express life as full as possible. Pudsey Bear Day dosent just help Africa but it also help a few underveloped countries as well.

As a result of Brundall making over £400 on Pudsey Bear Day they helped many people with non resourceful supplies to survive the critical heat and not die.

Those involved in Pudsey Bear Day gathered supplies and took it to school and sell or make a fun game for everyone to play.

Children have the opportunity to win a fantastic ginger bread house, made by the dinner ladies, as part of a christmas competition.

The dinner lady, Mrs Winter, has made a competition and you can win the grand prize, a awesome  ginger bread house.

Pupils can send in some christmas cards at the hall and they will hopefully have a fun time making it.

Mrs Winter will tell everyone who is the winner on the 13th  of December.

Mrs Winter said "I made it so the children can have a christmas treat and have a fun time making their christmas cards." We  asked her how long it took her to make the ginger bread house and she told us,"it took a long and tiring 4 hours." She also told us that all the christmas cards have been great.

getting new laptops

Getting new laptops

In november this year, The Dodos received   eighteen high tech laptops to their classroom which they  needed to produce their outstanding work on .

With great excitement and enthusiasm Mr Dooley, amazing teacher, sprung into action. with a steady  hand he picked up the shiny new black devices.

"They are extremely fast and child  friendly" exclaimed Mr Dooley

we also interviewed Oliver Smith (year six pupil) who quoted They are very useful  for all areas of the curriculum.

In conclusion the Dodos class think the laptops are much appreciated item of the school.

Christmas Production

Brundall Primary School , in Norfolk , have made another brilliant Christmas production . However the theme is different to other schools, because this one is based on a music hall. Two pupils have been selected to be the chairmen. Each class have come up with a piece which will be shown on the days .

The chairmen where chosen out of a number of children but Eleanor and Alistair where picked. Eleanor said " I am really excited and pleased because it is my last year here" and Alistair thinks it is really good because it's also his last year at Brundall School and it is a really good opportunity. Mrs Wilson, class teacher, is the producer of the show.

There will be a number of acts which include drama, dance, comedians and acrobats which have been putting time, effort as well as concentration to come up with these acts. Alisha and Amy have come up with a gymnastics routine . Amy told us that she was excited but also nervous about doing her and Alisha's routine.

The performances will start on the 10th and will be going on till the 13th the whole school is buzzing with excitement. We have been preparing for weeks practising songs, drama, dance and acrobats.

We are hoping it goes well on the days. But most of all we hope the audience like it.
