The Snow

Shared Writing

Snow flakes shine like diamonds,
They twinkle in the soft moonlight,
It looks peaceful like a sleeping dove,
And swallows the old landscape.

Quietly whispering onto every tree,
It murmurs on the bark,
Branches moan as they grow heavier,
The snow claps angrily as it hits the ground.

It dances like a ballerina in the wind,
Each flake gently kisses the ground,
Covering the world like a soft linen blanket,
The dreary waves of snow sleep solemnly.

The beryl-blue water contrasts the lurid sky,
Abandoned trees sleep under their blankets of snow,
Cones of perpetual snow envelop rooftops,
Chimneys breath out smoke from the fires inside.
