My heart began pounding like a drum.
Sweat was pouring down my face like a waterfall.
I jumped in fear as I stood on a cornflake that was spilt on the floor.
Sneaking around the house searching for the beast. But for some reason i was finding it exciting!
Then, out of the blue, an eye blinked in the shadows and i froze. The bloodthirsty lion pounced
as i ran in fear. I think I was so scared it looked like I danced to the flat door.
His claws slit my throat as blood poured out rapidly.

Not long ago, Tally would be inside her own home with her family. Not now, not after her parents had died.Tally was living on the streets with only her toy lion for company. Every morning the drummers would wake her up by beating their drum right by her ear. As they danced along the street, Tally felt a tear drop, it reminded her of her family. She decided to find some breakfast. She found a cornflake cake in the bin by the bench where she always sat. She thought about how it was made. How exciting it  must have been.

Surprisingly, it was very quiet at the zoo, everyone was dancing in a pure white tent. Also, listening to zoo keepers playing a song on the drum that I recognised. After seconds of daydreaming, in the corner of my eye, I noticed an empty cage. “What was inside?”

I went to have a closer look, at the name on the information panel. It read Cornflake lion. There called Cornflake lions for their unique Cornflake-shaped tail.

“Sam, Charlie we’ve got to go to the airport.” Their mum warned.
They were all going on an exciting trip to Turkey. Everyone hopped in the car and drove off.

“boarding flight Thirteen to Turkey, Alanya.” With a flash the Thompsons fell asleep on the plane. By four hours passing , they landed and realised that Sam and Charlie had disappeared.

“Charlie!” Mum screeched.
“Sam!” Dad bellowed.
One minute they were there, one minute they’re gone.

“Kidnapped” Mum wondered. She sobbed for a while. Her children, gone, forever. They heard Lions roar and screams.

People were forced to dance, cornflakes crunched.

‘Rick!’ I shout, ‘ be quiet!’ He doesn’t listen.
Rick is addicted to his precious drums, always practising. I don’t know what’s exciting about it, though, all you do is bang it. Rick is so annoying! The thudding continued like a lion preparing to dance. Fed up, I trudge down stairs and get the cornflakes. Suddenly, a loud bang makes me drop them, spilling all over the floor. But, I spot a note lingering on the table. It says:

‘What are brothers for?

I smile, realising it doesn’t matter that he annoying, that’s what brothers are for

Driving along the dusty path I quickly wake up and realise we made it, Africa. Packed in my backpack I sneaked an emergency ration of Cornflakes home. Ahead I notice a rabble of dancers, a large man is beating the drum, the people dance until my eyes hurt. Eventually we decided to offer them a ride.

Surprised I see a Lion pounce on top of our van. I remember the emergency Cornflakes packed in my bag. Assuringly I hurl the food out the window.

We drive up to the Hotel, I creep up the stairs open the door, full of Mosquitoes how exciting.

                          Kidnapped!!!!!

Steve was jolted awake by a noise. The lights outside his room flickered on and off.
Suddenly, men entered his room. They hit him on the head and he fell into unconsciousness…

When Steve regained consciousness, he knew something was wrong. He was in a cage with a bowl. Inside the bowl was a single, disgusting cornflake.

The next day, the men returned. They held a sack. His door was swung open, and the contents of the sack were emptied. Steve’s heart beated like a drum. A lion. It danced. The moment was exciting, yet strange.
What was going on?

Alone

Here I am, my brand new house, brand new doors, brand new windows, brand new cornflakes - which I bought at budgens - brand new car, brand new bed… brand new life. Alone. I edged slowly over to the lorry where my belongings waited to be introduced to the house. In the corner of my eye, a neighbour danced to Rihanna. An adorable lion toy watches her, but looked tattered. I veered to my door, I knew this place was exciting, but I was alone. Suddenly, a drum started banging, probably the neighbours. Will they be friendly? I wondered and hoped I was not alone.

The war

I sat cautiously in my Jeep. Today was not an exciting day. The war is commencing. The sound of gunshots ringed in my ear-drums. I was already half offering surrender, but I knew I had to lead my army. When I got to my army camp, some people danced, ready for the event, and other people crying, shaking in their boots. I had a bowl of cornflakes to get my appetite up. After, I got in place in front of everybody else. Knowing that this was a fatal risk. I held a patriotic flag with 3 lions. It had started.
Casually I strolled down the frosted street of Gigg lane it was a sight for sore eyes.

All of a sudden I connected with an exciting feeling .An isolated lion danced at the unfamiliar sight of a human. Gradually closing in on the lion, my heart was beating like a drum.In the corner of my eye I noticed a bizzare cornflake floating in the motionless air.It was followed by another, then another until it became a continious theme . An unsatisfactory feeling drifted into my body as the lion leapt on to my static chest. And showed his teeth...

Danny woke up.His scarred heart was pounding like a drum.He took a spoonful of cornflakes from his mosaic bowl,to get ready for the battle of a lifetime.Behind him his greatest childhood memories turning to flames. From a distance he could see the golden fur lion, scars all over him.Danny took out his sword, carved to perfection. The beast jumped at him like an elegant horse,Danny plunged the sword in the lions beating heart. It was over. All the fighting, done.Danny danced this was exciting stuff. Then a growl was heard. Was it all over?

WC 2 No one home

No one home

I walked. The cornflakes I had had obviously filled me up, as it was now noon and I haven’t eaten since.
The hall, in which I walked, was neverending, but doors led off into separate rooms.
Door 21. I took out my key, unlocked the door and went in. My drum still sat there, unused. The wall is painted with lions, where they once danced.
I took out the tape, showing my 8th birthday, and pushed it into my TV. My face appeared on the scratched screen. “ This is so exciting!” I cried.

But my parents aren't here to give me presents anymore. They’re dead...

As the drums beat and the crowd roars, the lions are released and the warriors fight for their lives.
“How amusing,” said the Emperor.
“indeed,” replied his slave.
“Let the ceremony commence!” shouted the Emperor.
“Slave pour the semi-skimmed milk onto the exiting  cornflakes.”
“Yes my lord.”
As the lady slaves danced, the Emperor ate a few cornflakes before saying…
“These are a disgrace, put them with the lions!”
“But all of the lions are dead.”
“Then feed them to someone elses lions!”
“Would… would you errr.. mind if I had some?” said the slave.
“No!”

the dusty trenches
inside the deadly battlefield, blood was oozing down my neck whilst haunting gun shots were skimming past my ear. Danger awaits. I was sweating ferociously.

My only friend was struck by a stray bullet. Taking my metal helmet off in disgust I said a solemn prayer as I buried him in the gruesome trenches: x marks the spot where my tears fell on his grave.

I was dehydrated because there was no water to stop me from fainting.
Feeling like a rollercoaster,I became dizzy.Struggling ,lost, through no-mans-land the situation over came me, and i fainted...

I froze. The bushes around me were rustling, but it wasn't the weather.
“Who’s there?” I called.
No answer.
Murmurs echoed around me, seemingly saying that X marks the spot. Gradually, I started to sprint, doing whatever I could to escape the voices. Suddenly, I skidded to a halt. There on the ground, was a red X. Remembering what the voices said, I hastily constructed a shovel and began to dig. Inside the hole, I saw what looked like a portal. Cautiously, I jumped through it.
Once I got through, I grinned. I was the first  person to ever escape the maze.

Quarter of a mile to go. They stop. The sandy terrain of the desert lay ahead. The sun was scorching, burning their skin like wood on a fire.

“Over here!” An object sat, buried in the sand. Its nitid metal poked helplessly out of the ground.

They knew what it was when it suddenly floated off the ground. A robot.

The Watch

I look and look. Still nothing. I can’t find it. X marks the spot, I remember. I look for another clue, a mound of dirt maybe. The I see it. A black X made of ash. I use my dry hands to dig until I come to a silver watch, my Grandma’s silver watch. It seemed to be in surprisingly good condition, I think as I stroke it’s delicate black hands. “ Mira?” I hear Grandma’s gentle voice whisper.
“ Grandma?” I mumble back. Nothing. I wipe my eyes as a salty tear falls from my stormy blue eyes. I'd lost my Grandma again.
